The Eastern New Mexico Medical Center (ENMMC) Auxiliary joined forces with the Conquistador Council earlier this summer to provide essential lifesaving equipment across all Council properties, benefiting our community and youth.
As Wehinahpay Mountain Camp prepared to welcome its 2024 Summer Staff, the ENMMC Auxiliary swiftly collaborated with our Council to identify and secure necessary AED equipment and accessories. These items were vital to replacing and supplementing the existing equipment at various Council locations: the Council Service Center in Roswell, NM; Dowling Aquatic Base in Carlsbad, NM; Camp Jim Murray in Hobbs, NM; and two device combinations for Wehinahpay Mountain Camp in Sacramento, NM. The ENMMC Auxiliary identified the needed equipment and donated funds to ensure its purchase. It leveraged its partnerships with internal and state vendors to expedite delivery to Wehinahpay Mountain Camp in time for the campers' arrival.
Fortunately, this equipment was not needed for emergencies this summer, thanks to the dedicated staff and trained medical personnel at Wehinahpay Mountain Camp. However, we are grateful to have these updated resources to ensure preparedness and leadership in case of future emergencies.
ENMMC has been a steadfast partner with the Conquistador Council for many years, supporting the community and youth. They have opened their doors to volunteers and staff for training, and program delivery with Exploring Post, and have hosted tours and field trips for our Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. Additionally, many Rio Hondo families have found employment within ENMMC's various departments.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to ENMMC and the Auxiliary for their unwavering support of our community's youth and families.
