Celebrating Achievement at the Conquistador Council Scouts BSA Annual Meeting

This morning marked a significant event in the calendar of the Conquistador Council Scouts BSA as we gathered at the SP Yates Council Service Center for our annual business meeting. Spirits were high as we convened to discuss the past year's achievements and set the course for the year ahead.

Following the conclusion of our business matters, anticipation filled the air as we made our way to the Eagle Scout Honor Patio for a momentous reveal—the unveiling of the 2023 Class of Eagle Scouts. With each name etched into the new brick, we honored the dedication, perseverance, and character of these outstanding individuals. Please join us in congratulating Roy Blackshear, Aidan Donahue, Ethan Dowell, Michael White, and Rohith Yangalasetty on achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Their commitment to service, leadership, and personal growth exemplifies the very essence of Scouting.

But the celebrations didn't stop there. As the day progressed, we transitioned into our annual recognition banquet, where we had the privilege of acknowledging individuals whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our council and community.

Firstly, we proudly named Jeremy Kern as the Council Alumnus of the Year. Jeremy's continued dedication to Scouting serves as an inspiration to us all. His commitment to the values instilled in him through Scouting is a testament to the lifelong impact of our organization.

Furthermore, we had the honor of presenting the distinguished Silver Beaver Award to Dana Lenzo and Marshall Allen. This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service to youth within the Scouting movement. Dana and Marshall's unwavering dedication to mentoring, guiding, and supporting Scouts has enriched the lives of countless young people, shaping them into responsible and honorable citizens.

As we reflect on this day of celebration and recognition, we are reminded of the profound impact that Scouting has on individuals and communities. Through the values of leadership, service, and camaraderie, we continue to shape the leaders of tomorrow, fostering a legacy of excellence that extends far beyond the bounds of our council.

Congratulations once again to our new Eagle Scouts, our Council Alumnus of the Year, and our distinguished Silver Beaver Award recipients. Your contributions are immeasurable, and your achievements serve as beacons of inspiration for us all. Here's to another year of growth, service, and Scouting spirit!
